The children of Duke Street Primary School, Chorley, have studied the book Somebody Swallowed Stanley by Sarah Roberts and have created a Book Bench based upon this book. The bench is one of a series of benches placed throughout Chorley - Why not check these out!

Somebody Swallowed Stanley was the debut book for Sarah Roberts. The story follows the eventful journey made by Stanley, a discarded plastic carrier bag, who is swept into the sea. As he drifts through the ocean waves, he is mistaken for a jellyfish and swallowed by a series of unsuspecting animals. After Stanley is washed ashore, a young boy finds and rescues him, turning Stanley into something new and interesting!
